There is a new translation of the Bible being worked on by Thomas Nelson, and it sound very fascinating to me. It’s called The Voice, and you can buy the New Testament now, the Old Testament is still being worked on. On the website, you can even download the entire book of John to check it out.
The idea behind this translation is one that I think is very interesting, and I hope that it will turn out to be a very good translation for the future. They have got a team of authors and writers and poets and artists all working together with scholars and translators to craft a translation that maintains more of the beauty and personality and storytelling arts of the Bible into the English language. I think that there are even some musicians taking part (maybe making songs out of the Psalms? I’m not sure how that will play out). All in all, I’m intrigued, and I will read through the book of John and see for myself.
