Trust in your money and down you go!
But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.

Proverbs 11:28

There are two ways to live life. You can trust in your own hard work, luck, and ingenuity, or you can trust in the Lord. Is money driving your emotions? Is worry about wealth and possessions ruling your life? Or can you watch for what God will do, whether the stock market goes sky high or crashes to the bottom?

One way to make sure that God is first is to give your money over to Him. Make sure to take the tithe (10%) straight off the top of your income, and give it to God. And when you see a need that you can fill, fill it. Use your money as a tool to help and serve others, and you will have God first and foremost in your own life. The Lord gives the power to gain wealth, and He alone can see the future.

Give freely and become more wealthy;
be stingy and lose everything.

The generous will prosper;
those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

People curse those who hoard their grain,
but they bless the one who sells in time of need.
